We did it … and by the end of March!
The Vale Press team has planted 1014 trees in our local area on the Gloucestershire/Worcestershire borders.
This year’s planting consisted of Beech, Bird Cherry, Elder, English Oak, English Walnut, Field Maple, Hawthorn, Hazel, Hornbeam, Rowan, Silver Birch, Sweet Chestnut plus one semi-established Lebanese Cedar and three apple trees of an old locally-grown variety, Devonshire Quarrenden.
Next year, we’re planning to plant copses of Willow in two low-lying parts, next to a brook and next to pond to help the overall flood-water management of the area.
Willows provide habitats for one of the widest and most diverse ranges of insect-life, so are excellent tree-hosts in bio-diversity schemes.
Please consider printing locally with Vale Press and see our local communities and environment benefit even more – we have fifty staff at your service running some of the world’s finest printing presses.
