Sponsoring the “Green Column” and “World Book Day”.

Vale Press Ltd are pleased to be sponsoring “The Green Column” in our local community magazine – The Chipping Campden Bulletin.

This month we’ve also sponsored the prizes for a competition to recognise World Book Day, which is on Thursday 5th March.

World Book Day is “… A day to celebrate the joys of books and reading …” and as printers we are, of course, very keen to promote the printed word.

Indeed, a recent survey suggested that 70% of people preferred reading  “proper books” to online versions!

fullsizeoutput_56f

Not really in Calgary – or anywhere near a cable car, snow or a mountain!

Vale Press were, though, really pleased to be in Broadway to support a Fundraising Dinner at Russells Restaurant in aid of CASS & Friends.

fullsizeoutput_56dCASS & Friends was set up in early 2015 to offer financial support to young and aspiring athletes in the Cotswolds and South Worcestershire. The charity is based close to Broadway and Vale Press HQ.

Funded totally from public donations, CASS provide financial help to families with gifted sporting youngsters.

To read more about their great work and to read about some of the gifted, local young sportsmen and women, who CASS are supporting, please visit: www.cassandfriends.org

The Patron of the charity is an old friend of Vale Press – Eddie the Eagle, who told us that you will soon be able to see him back on TV – but we’ve promised not to divulge just what he will be up to!

Vale Press supporting our Helicopter Heroes of Midlands Air Ambulance!

Vale Press were delighted to hand over a cheque for £705 to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

fullsizeoutput_551

Eddy Stowe, Sales Director at Vale Press hands over the cheque to Erin from Midlands Air Ambulance.

If you see a red air ambulance flying over the Vale Press factory in South Worcestershire/North Cotswolds then it’s probably a “Midlands Air Ambulance”.

And help is on its way quickly to someone in need.

Unknown

Midlands Air Ambulance is the charity responsible for funding and operating three air ambulances serving the communities of six Midlands counties: Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire and the West Midlands.

This constitutes the largest air ambulance operating region in the UK.

Since 1991, the charity has responded to more than 50,000 missions averaging 2,000 per year, making it one of the longest established and busiest air ambulance organisations in the UK.

Midlands Air Ambulance receives no Government or National Lottery funding.

Each Midlands Air Ambulance mission costs £2,500 and in excess of £9 million is needed each year to keep its’ three air ambulances operational, which is donated entirely by the public and local businesses.

That’s why donations and fundraising are so essential and why Vale Press were keen to nominate Midlands Air Ambulance to receive the raffle proceeds from the Stratford Sporting Club Dinner that Vale Press sponsored recently.

Vale supporting our Local Cinema Club.

Broadway is only a mile or so from our Willersey factory and we’re proud to have many clients amongst it’s residents and business base.

One of Vale Press’s studio team is Nigel Smith, who has lived in Broadway all of his life. Out of work hours, Nigel is a tireless supporter of his village and amongst many other things helps to run Broadway Cinema Club.

So at Vale Press we’re very pleased to be able to sponsor the club’s regular film screenings at the Lifford Hall.

Amongst the movies that have hit the big screen this last year in Broadway have been:

Another “Great Innings” to help Midlands Air Ambulance “Save Lives by Saving Time”.

Vale Press were really pleased to sponsor a Sporting Club Dinner in Stratford-upon-Avon yesterday – Thursday 28th November – organised by Rugby Union legend, David Duckham MBE.

In particular we are delighted to be able to nominate Midlands Air Ambulance to benefit from the raffle proceeds at the event, where the guest speaker was England cricket legend and former test selector, Geoff Miller OBE. Geoff was an all-rounder who played for his home county of Derbyshire most of his career in the Clive Lloyd, Dennis Lillee & Viv Richards era.

Geoff was rumoured to be “the last man to field at slip with a whoopee cushion up his jumper!”

Vale Press Chairman, Lynden Stowe says: “We try and give something back to the communities where we live, work and play, and that’s why we are so keen to sponsor events like this which raise money for such a really worthwhile and important local charity.”

“At Vale we’ve printed for sporting legends, superheroes and even a prime minister. We never forget those local charity heroes who do so much good work. Midlands Air Ambulance quite simply do an amazing job.”

Midlands Air Ambulance does not receive any funding from the Government or National Lottery for its daily missions so relies entirely on the support and generosity of local people and businesses. To learn more about their work please visit: www.midlandsairambulance.com/about-us/
