Capturing a Landscape for Future Generations

Last summer we commissioned our long-standing friend and print customer (and newly-retired) Gary Beard to paint our “Field of Life”.

The meadow was bounteous with bright-yellow and very happy-looking buttercups.

A sight worth capturing.

There was, though, another reason for wishing to capture the image.

In the upper part of the field (just below the wooded area in the image above) we had over the previous two winters planted 3,000 trees including the almost complete re-planting of two hedgerows.

As these trees grow the landscape and our vista will, of course, change,

In years to come, we and future generations will be able to compare “then-and-now” landscapes as the field evolves as a habitat to more birds and wildlife with an increasing bio-diversity.
