An Update from FOCUS at Gloucestershire Oncology Centre.

Six months ago at Vale Press we thought it very appropriate to show our support by donating £500 to FOCUS – the charitable fund for the Gloucestershire Oncology Centre at Cheltenham General Hospital.

Not least, some of our staff have received treatment at the Centre whilst others have partners, family or friends who have.

It’s a vital resource for Gloucestershire – it touches so many people and families across the county and surrounding areas, as it treats 90,000 patients each year.

So we were pleased to receive a recent newsletter and would like to share their news with you and encourage you to support their fundraising initiatives in 2020.

Another “Great Innings” to help Midlands Air Ambulance “Save Lives by Saving Time”.

Vale Press were really pleased to sponsor a Sporting Club Dinner in Stratford-upon-Avon yesterday – Thursday 28th November – organised by Rugby Union legend, David Duckham MBE.

In particular we are delighted to be able to nominate Midlands Air Ambulance to benefit from the raffle proceeds at the event, where the guest speaker was England cricket legend and former test selector, Geoff Miller OBE. Geoff was an all-rounder who played for his home county of Derbyshire most of his career in the Clive Lloyd, Dennis Lillee & Viv Richards era.

Geoff was rumoured to be “the last man to field at slip with a whoopee cushion up his jumper!”

Vale Press Chairman, Lynden Stowe says: “We try and give something back to the communities where we live, work and play, and that’s why we are so keen to sponsor events like this which raise money for such a really worthwhile and important local charity.”

“At Vale we’ve printed for sporting legends, superheroes and even a prime minister. We never forget those local charity heroes who do so much good work. Midlands Air Ambulance quite simply do an amazing job.”

Vale Press helping to buy “Taz” a new Leg … An inspiration for a generation.

Vale Press were delighted to sponsor the recent “Stratford-upon-Avon Business Sporting Club Dinner” with guest speaker – England and British & Irish Lions Rugby Union legendary hooker and now BBC pundit, Brian Moore.

The raffle raised an incredible £1150 for our nominated charity – “Taz’s Leg Fund”.

When he’s not managing Vale Press’s client expectations, Tom Stowe will more-often-than-not be found coaching, managing and chairing the “Mini’s and Juniors” section at Stratford-upon-Avon Rugby Club’s Pearcecroft ground.

It was there in 2017 that Jon “Taz” Tarrant was playing Prop position for Stratford Rugby Club First XV when a ruck collapsed ending in a life-changing injury to Taz. This resulted in a lower leg amputation in September last year and Taz having a prosthetic limb fitted.

But the “inner sportsman” within Taz now wants more – he wants to start running again.

A prosthetic running limb costs nearly £10,000 – and that’s what the raffle proceeds are going towards. To help Taz run again!

We’re convinced that Taz will succeed and be an inspiration to a generation.
