Sporting Dinner with sporting legends supporting Alzheimers Research.

Vale Press were pleased to sponsor the Business Sporting Club Dinner in Stratford-upon-Avon last night where the guest speaker was Sir Ian McGeeghan OBE (nickname “Geech”)  – probably the greatest Rugby Union coach of all time. Head Coach of the British & Irish Lions for the tours of 1989, 1993, 1997 and 2009.

The raffle at the Dinner was in aid of Alzheimer’s – an incredibly worthwhile charity – and one which needs no introduction, as it affects the lives of so many.

It was a privilege to sit with Sir Ian and, rugby legend from the seventies, David Duckham MBE.

I asked them both who would be their first player of choice on a “Fantasy XV” team sheet.

Both gave me the same answer – Gareth Edwards.

Here’s a reminder why – a match in which David Duckham played.

Thanks again to those who bought raffle tickets and donated prizes and in particular to Jean & David Duckham who organised the dinner.

Supporting our local arts festival … with a national reputation!

Vale Press are pleased to be sponsoring the forthcoming Broadway Arts Festival.

Broadway is only a mile or so from our Willersey factory and we’re proud to have many clients amongst it’s residents and business base.

In particular we’re pleased to print for many of the high-quality art galleries on Broadway’s High Street, including world class galleries such as John Noott and Haynes Fine Art.

Vale Press have just completed printing the 2018 Programme for the biennial Broadway Arts Festival taking place this year between 8th and 17th June with well over 50 events listed.

Whilst the festival has its roots in the village of Broadway, it’s fast earning an enviable national reputation.

A bit like Vale Press!

Vale present Shakespeare Hospice with big blank cheque!

When Vale Press handed over our “big cheque” for £1780 to The Shakespeare Hospice (see blog of 15th December) to help support their fantastic work, they asked if we could produce a “blank cheque” for them to use for their own publicity photos when they receive a donation.

We were only too pleased to help!

Here is Adriana Geary of Shakespeare Hospice with the re-usable big blank cheque. We hope the cheque is used many times and the bigger the numbers – the better!

Calendar helps Scouts on their way to summer fun in Switzerland!

Many of us at Vale Press have children or grand children and know how difficult it is to fundraise to provide activities, entertainment and trips for our young people.

When possible at Vale, we’re happy to try and help.  So when our local 1st Chipping Campden Scouts approached us to help raise money for a trip to Switzerland by producing a Calendar of the children, how could we say no?

On a tight timescale and close to Christmas we helped by designing the calendar, planning out the adverts and printing it all within 6 days!

It was good to see so many other local businesses and customers also advertising in the calendar.

27 scouts and 5 leaders are off to Switzerland in July for an eleven day adventure and will be staying at the international scout centre in Kandersteg. The young people range from 10 to 15 years old and will partake in a variety of activities in the mountains. They will also meet other scouts from around the world.

We wish the scouts a fantastic time this summer and hope they sold out of the Calendars!
