£1780 raised for The Shakespeare Hospice.

We are delighted that last week’s “Stratford-upon-Avon Business Sporting Club Dinner” with guest speaker Eddie the Eagle and sponsored by Vale Press raised the fantastic sum of £1780 from the raffle to support our nominated charity – The Shakespeare Hospice. Our thanks to those who donated/attended and in particular to Jean & David Duckham who organised the dinner.

Vale Press hoping for a “Soaring Success” this evening in support of our local heroes at The Shakespeare Hospice!

Vale Press are really pleased to be sponsoring a Sporting Club Dinner in Stratford-upon-Avon this evening – Thursday 9th November. 
 
In particular we are delighted to be able to support the fantastic work of our very own local heroes at The Shakespeare Hospice, who we are proud to have as one of our print customers.

The hospice will benefit from the raffle proceeds at tonight’s event, where the guest speaker will be Gloucestershire-based ski-jumping superhero, Michael “Eddie the Eagle” Edwards, inspiration for the recent hit movie of the same name.
 Eddie the Eagle, real name Michael Edwards, took to the slopes at the Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta in support of local jumpers. Around 1000 fans watched the 1988 Olympian jump. Featuring: Eddie Edwards Where: Calgary, Canada When: 05 Mar 2017

Vale Press Chairman, Lynden Stowe says: “Whilst at Vale we’ve printed for sporting legends, superheroes and even a prime minister, we never forget the often unsung local heroes who do so much good work.

That’s why we try and give something back to the communities where we live, work and play, and why we are so keen to see this evenings event raise money for our local hospice.

Doubly so, as the funds raised tonight will be donated in memory of former Chairman of the Sporting Club and local lawyer, Nigel Phillips – a good friend and counsel to so many local folk.”

A New Home for “Lepus” the Hare!

For over 20 years the logo of Vale Press has been a hare.

It represented our rural heritage; our environmentally green credentials and the need, in the fast-moving world of print, to move swiftly. (And where it also helps to have near 360 degree vision!).

Vale Press were, therefore, proud to sponsor the 2017 Cotswold Hare Trail – which culminated in Friday evening’s auction of this year’s 5ft high painted hares.

We were delighted to win the bid for one of the hares which helped raise money to support the National Star College, Ullenwood, Nr Cheltenham, who do brilliant work with young people with severe and complex disabilities.

“Lepus” was designed by students of Cirencester College and includes small neon studded lights to represent several constellations of stars – including “Lepus” (The Hare).

Having spent the summer in St. John’s Parish Church, Cirencester, “Lepus” is now en route to a permanent new home at Vale Press.

Here is “Lepus” with Florence Beetlestone, the inspirational genius behind the Hare Trail, and Paul Martin (of Flog It! fame) who acted as auctioneer for the evening raising several tens of thousands of pounds for charity.
