Vale Press supporting improvements to the Oncology Centre at Cheltenham Hospital.

Twelve months ago Cllr Andrew Gravells, Chairman of Gloucestershire County Council, announced that the charity for his year in office was to be the Oncology Centre at Cheltenham Hospital.

At Vale Press we thought it very appropriate to also show our support. Not least, some of our staff have received treatment at the Centre whilst others have partners, family or friends who have.
So we realise just what a vital and important resource it is for Gloucestershire and how much it touches so many people and families across the county and surrounding areas, as it treats 90,000 patients each year.

FOCUS is the charitable fund for the Gloucestershire Oncology Centre at Cheltenham General Hospital to which Vale Press have donated £500 in support of fundraising led by Cllr Andrew Gravells in his role as Chairman of Gloucestershire County Council, with £2,000 now raised in total for Focus.

Andrew said “I’m really grateful to Vale Press for their donation. As both a Governor of the Hospital and a patient who has been treated by the Oncology Team I’m trying to raise whatever I can to show my gratitude for the excellent treatment I’ve received as an outpatient at this outstanding Centre.”

Richard Hastilow-Smith, Head of Fundraising: “Donations make a direct difference for local cancer patients by funding extra care, specialist equipment and improvements to facilities over and above the NHS, and we are very grateful to both Vale Press and Cllr Gravells for this kind support of Focus”.
